Course Overview

Course Duration

5 days classroom based - from 8am to 4pm. Followed by a 1 day assessment which is conducted after 10 welds and 10 turnouts have been completed under the supervision of a qualified ultrasonic tester.

Delivery Mode

This course is delivered using face-to-face, classroom-based delivery.

This course is intended for people who are required to be employed as an ultrasonic tester.

The successful completion of this course requires competency to be achieved in 2 units.

Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course, you need to be working in the rail industry and have someone who is prepared to allow you to complete your practical experience with them as the practical experience is a required component of this course.

You will also need to hold these units as per the National Track and Civil Matrix:

– Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure (Track Work), or

– a recognised qualification in non-destructive testing equivalent to a Certificate II or above.

Course Outcomes
