This qualification is delivered using a face-to-face, classroom-based delivery mode.

This course is aligned to the specific requirements of Queensland Rail’s Network Rules and Procedures MD-12-189. On successful completion of this course learners will obtain a Queensland Rail enterprise certificate as well as the national unit of competency:

  1. TLIF0027 Perform lookout duties

Course Detail

It Involves the skills and knowledge required to perform lookout duties on a rail network in accordance with Rail Infrastructure Manager, legislative and regulatory requirements.

During the course you will cover:

  1. Planning for safety
  2. Queensland Rail Network Rules and Procedures
  3. Lookout Working
  4. How to use Lookout Working
  5. Other types of Lookouts

Entry Requirements

You must be able to speak and understand English. You will need to pass a simple Language, Literacy and Numeracy test prior to commencement of the lookout working training.

You will need to complete a Railway Category 1, 2 or 3 Medical prior to commencing work.

Students must have completed the Queensland 3.2 SARC to attend this course.

Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of all assessments, students will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment and a Queensland Rail Enterprise certificate.
