The ARTC NSW Protection Officer Level 1 course equips participants with the skills and knowledge to implement and manage low-complexity protection plans within the ARTC NSW network. This includes safely planning and coordinating worksite protection methods, applying safeworking rules, and ensuring the safety of personnel and rail operations. This nationally recognised course supports compliance with the ARTC Network Rules and Procedures specific to NSW.Introduction:

In alignment with industry consultation and the job role expectations, the following is needed for course admission:- A valid Category 1 Rail Medical assessment
- TLIF0020 Safely Access the Rail Corridor
- CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry

This course begins with four days of trainer-led classroom learning, where you will develop the knowledge and skills required to safely perform the roles requirements. During the classroom component, you will complete knowledge assessments to demonstrate your understanding.Following the classroom training, you will be required to complete an in-field logbook in your workplace. This practical experience must be organised by you and completed under the supervision of a qualified workplace mentor, who will verify your competency in performing the required tasks.
Once your logbook has been completed, you will return to TICRail to undertake a final practical assessment, where one of our qualified assessors will observe your skills and confirm your competency against the requirements of the unit.
Please note that the final practical assessment is booked separately and attracts an additional assessment fee.
