This course is designed to provide participants in the correct use of rail communication protocols and equipment, including the use of standard terminology and procedures when communicating via radio, phone, or in person across Queensland Rail networks.
Participants will learn how to clearly and accurately relay information, report incidents, respond to instructions, and operate within the boundaries of Queensland Rail’s communication standards and procedures.

In alignment with industry consultation and the job role expectations outlined by Queensland Rail, TIC Rail requires the following for course admission:1. General and Medical Requirements
- A valid Category 3 Rail Medical assessment including Drug and Alcohol, confirming fitness for work in a rail environment.
- A Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card
- QR3.2 Safely Access the Rail Corridor Certification
Applicants must provide evidence of the following nationally recognised units of competency (or their superseded and equivalent versions):
- TLIF0020 – Safely Access the Rail Corridor

This course is delivered through one day of classroom-based learning and includes knowledge assessments and practical observations in a simulated environment to evaluate both theoretical understanding and hands-on competence.Learning Outcomes:
