The QR3.2 Safely Access the Rail Corridor Recertification course is aligned with the specific requirements of Queensland Rail’s Network Rules and Procedures MD-12-189. It is designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to safely enter and navigate the rail corridor and danger zone, with the permission of the access provider, in full compliance with legislative and regulatory standards.
Participants will learn to adhere to the policies, procedures, and protocols of the access provider to ensure situational awareness and rail safety. The course covers operating under local track protection rules, including interpreting track protection requirements, executing assigned protection tasks, and performing work activities in line with safe working practices and workplace procedures. Additionally, learners will be trained to respond effectively to safety incidents and abnormal situations, within their scope of personal responsibility.

In alignment with industry consultation and the job role expectations outlined by Queensland Rail, TIC Rail requires the following for course admission:1. General and Medical Requirements
- A valid Category 3 Rail Medical assessment including Drug and Alcohol, confirming fitness for work in a rail environment.
- A Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card
All participants attending the QR SARC course are required to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The minimum PPE for participation in this course is as follows:
- High Visibility Clothing - long sleeve safety orange shirt and long pants
- Safety Boots
- Safety Headwear - A broad-brimmed hat or safety helmet with a broad brim attachment, as per the rail corridor entry requirements.
- Safety Glasses
