The ARTC NSW Track Vehicle Operator course is designed to qualify participants to safely operate road-rail vehicles and other on-track machines on the ARTC NSW rail network. The course ensures that participants understand the operational requirements, safeworking responsibilities, and communications protocols involved in controlling rail-bound vehicles. Emphasis is placed on safety, regulatory compliance, and coordination with Network Control and other safeworking personnel.

- Communicating with Network Control and safeworking personnel: Using correct communication protocols, including obtaining authority to access track.
