This induction is essential for anyone requiring access to rail environments\, ensuring compliance with TfNSW safety protocols and reducing the risk of accidents and incidents.\n\nThe course is intended for employees\, contractors\, and supervisors who require access to the rail corridor under TfNSW guidelines\, including track workers\, maintenance personnel\, safety officers\, and operational staff\n\nIf participant is under 17\, eligibility for a TfNSW Rail Safety Worker Authorisation must be obtained in writing from TfNSW Organisational Development (OD) before the learner can participate in training. This can take up to 10 working days on receipt of the applicable form. It covers safe practices for operating around the electric traction system and working within electrified territories to prevent injuries and incidents. \n\nThe course is designed for contractors and authorised personnel\, equipping them with a foundational understanding of the traction system\, electrical risks\, and minimum safe working procedures for working in electrified areas within Queensland Rail. It also provides guidelines on effectively reporting incidents and emergencies. \n\nSuccessful completion of this training is mandatory to perform work safely on or near high-voltage electrical apparatus across Queensland Rail’s electrified rail network (unless the work is performed under direct supervision).
