SUMMARY:TfNSW Safely access the rail corridor
DESCRIPTION:TfNSW Safely access the rail corridor \n\nTLIF0020_TfNSW\n\n\nCourse Heading Section (Website)\nThe TfNSW Accessing the Rail Corridor Induction course is designed to equip workers with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely access and work within the rail corridor. This induction is essential for anyone requiring access to rail environments\, ensuring compliance with TfNSW safety protocols and reducing the risk of accidents and incidents\n\nIntroduction:\nEntry Requirements Section (Website)\ntest\n\n\nTarget Audience:\nDelivery Mode Section (Website)\nThe course is intended for employees\, contractors\, and supervisors who require access to the rail corridor under TfNSW guidelines\, including track workers\, maintenance personnel\, safety officers\, and operational staff\n\nIf participant is under 17\, eligibility for a TfNSW Rail Safety Worker Authorisation must be obtained in writing from TfNSW Organisational Development (OD) before the learner can participate in training. This can take up to 10 working days on receipt of the applicable form. Please contact us to send the form to you if you have someone under 17.\n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes:\nAssessment Information Section (Website)Demonstrate how to safely access and work in the rail corridor: Understand and apply TfNSW access protocols and safety procedures when entering and working within the rail corridor.Recognise the danger zone: Identify the designated danger zones in the rail corridor and understand the associated risks when working in these areas.Identify and access a safe place: Locate and safely access a designated safe place within the rail corridor\, ensuring quick refuge from potential hazards or approaching traffic.Identify the direction of approaching traffic: Assess and determine the direction of approaching trains or other rail traffic to plan for safe movement and avoid accidents. Apply minimum sighting distances: Understand and apply the required minimum sighting distances to ensure visibility of approaching trains or vehicles\, reducing risk in the rail environment.Identify and explain the use of communication tools when working in the rail environment: Recognise the various communication tools and systems used within the rail environment and demonstrate how to effectively communicate safety-critical informationIdentify and report unsafe situations within the rail environment: Recognize unsafe work conditions or practices\, understand the importance of reporting these hazards\, and follow the correct procedures for escalation and rectification.\n\n\nLearning Methods:\nHow can this course benefit you Section (Website)\n\n\n	Classroom-based learning: Face-to-face instruction covering essential theoretical concepts and safety procedures.\n	Knowledge assessments: Written tests to evaluate participants' understanding of the course material.\n	Practical observation assessments: Hands-on activities where participants demonstrate their skills in a controlled environment.\n\n\n\n\nProgram Benefits:\nWhere this course can take you Section (Website) Career Advancement: Equips participants with essential skills and safety knowledge required for working in the rail corridor\, serving as a stepping stone toward more advanced roles within the rail industry.Certification: Upon successful completion\, participants receive a Statement of Completion or Induction Certificate (as per TfNSW requirements)\, demonstrating their ability to safely access the rail corridor under TfNSW protocols.Safety and Compliance: Ensures all participants are trained to meet TfNSW safety standards and regulatory obligations\, promoting a culture of safety and reducing incidents in the rail environment.Industry Recognition: This induction is mandated by and recognised within the TfNSW network\, validating participant readiness to work in a safety-critical rail environment and increasing their eligibility for future rail-related work.\n\n\nContent:\n\n  \n\nEnquire\nUpcoming Workshops\nThere are currently no openings available for this course.
