ARTC Notification of Change 2018

There are upcoming changes to the Victorian and South Australian ARTC Network. These changes may impact you and require additional training.

Operate Fire-Fighting Equipment Training

The Instruction Company has added a new course to our scope, Operate Fire-Fighting Equipment Training.

Operate Fire-Fighting Equipment TrainingThis course takes approximately 3 hours and only requires the employer to provide a training room, whiteboard & access to fire extinguishers.

Unique Student Identifier (USI) Required for all Students

As at the 1st January 2015, The Australian Government - Department of Industry, requires any student undertaking a nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training  (VET) course have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Nationally recognised training is defined as any program of training leading to vocational qualifications and credentials that are recognised across Australia.

TLI42613 Certificate IV in Train Driving Course

This qualification replaces the existing TLI40410 Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Rail Operations).

 

There is a transition period that allows the existing qualification to remain in effect until your business requirements have identified that the new qualification should be implemented.

Employees currently on existing TLI40410 Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Rail Operations) Traineeships can continue to complete their qualifications and are not affected.

 

Track Safety Awareness, ARTC One Track Training, RISI Card, John Holland Rail Network TSA training

Changes are occurring for all rail safety workers who will be conducting work activities on the ARTC managed Defined Interstate Rail Network (DIRN in NSW).  These changes start to take effect from April 2nd 2012 and will be fully implemented by December 1st 2012.

As from April 2nd 2012, ARTC are introducing minimum competency standards for rail safety critical workers who need to gain entry into their resepective rail corridors.

Fuel Conservation and Train Management

The Instruction Company is pleased to announce that it has available training courses that are specifically designed to assist rail operators in providing train drivers with purposeful training that will enable them to employ the strategies that serve to minimise fuel usage and adopt good train management practices.  These courses target the optimum techniques that will ensure operators are able to take advantage of fuel savings and minimise wear and tear on rolling stock.

New Courses Available in Victoria

The Instruction Company is pleased to advise that we are now in a position to train and assess in Victorian Infrastructure Track Force Protection.  We have an excellent course designed to meet the requirements of both Handsignaller and Track Force Coordinator positions.

One of our dedicated and committed Victorian trainers, Barry Dunn can also conduct both the on job training and assessment of competence needs for all levels of Track Force Coordinator in this state.  Please contact our office or consult the course calendar on our web page for details on upcoming courses.
