Changes to Track Safety Awareness training and assessments of competence in NSW
Submitted by administrator on Tue, 31/01/2012 - 15:23Changes are occurring for all rail workers who will be conducting work activities on the ARTC managed Defined Interstate Rail Network (DIRN in NSW).
The changes will start to take effect on March 2nd 2012 and will be fully implemented by December 1st 2012.
As from March 2nd 2012, ARTC are introducing minimum competency standards for rail safety critical workers who need to gain entry into their respective rail corridors.

We now have instructors and assessors that can conduct rail training and assessment without the need and expense of travelling them into the area. This means that in addition to locations that we already service, we will not be charging accommodation and travelling costs for training conducted at the following locations:
- Dubbo
- Parkes
- Cootamundra
- Wellington
- Wagga
- Orange
- Goulburn
Fuel Conservation and Train Management

These courses target the optimum techniques that will ensure operators are able to take advantage of fuel savings and minimise wear and tear on rolling stock.
New Courses Available in Victoria

We have an excellent course designed to meet the requirements of both Handsignaller and Track Force Coordinator positions.
One of our dedicated and committed Victorian trainers, Barry Dunn can also conduct both the on job training and assessment of competence needs for all levels of Track Force Coordinator in this state.
