ARTC Notification of Change 2018

There are upcoming changes to the Victorian and South Australian ARTC Network. These changes may impact you and require additional training.

This training must be completed and lodged in Rail Industry Worker by 30 June 2018. The Instruction Company can organise any training you require for these changes;

 

Notification of Change:

1. The ARTC Code of Practice for the Victorian main line operation – TA20
2. The ARTC annotated version of the Code of Practice for the Defined Interstate Network, (CoP) and ARTC Addendum

 

Changes are to provide continuous improvement and gain consistency across the ARTC Network.

ALL Contractors and ARTC employees will need to complete this training by 30 June 2018.

 

The certificate received from each workshop is to be uploaded into Onsite. A new competency has been created for each role. The new competency will be made mandatory on the 30 June 2018. If you have not completed a workshop by 30 June 2018 your RIW role will default to working towards.

 

Contractors and ARTC employees will need to attend a training workshop including assessment.

 

NOTE: The ARTC Code of Practice for the Victorian main line operation – TA20

 

Changes to ARTC Code of Practice for the Victorian mainline operation (TA20) are required to provide continuous improvement and gain consistency across the ARTC Network.   

All roles listed below need to attend a briefing session and upload the Certificate of Achievement into Onsite issued by The Instruction Company prior to the 1st July 2018 to maintain currency.  When uploading into Onsite use the code Safety.Certificate of Achievement.   • Track Protection – Lookout
  • Track Protection – Handsignaller
  • Track Protection Coordinator – Level 1
  • Track Protection Coordinator – Level 2
  • Track Protection Coordinator – Level 3
  • Track Vehicle Operator
  • Safeworking Level 1

 

Additional, Track Force Protection Coordinators (level 2 & 3) need to obtain the unit of competency TLIL3082 Implement Absolute Signal Blocking (ARTC Rule CSB).

 

If you currently hold this unit of competency (TLIL3082), then you only need to attend the one briefing session and upload your certificate of achievement from the briefing session prior to the 1st July 2018. If you DO NOT hold this unit of competency, then after today’s briefing you will need to complete the on the job competency assessment workbook, gather evidence and be assessed as competent by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) prior to the 30th September 2018.

 

Until you have been competency assessed you will not be able to undertake absolute signal blocking, however you will be able to undertake other elements of the Track Force Protection Coordinators Role.

 

If the competency assessment has not been achieved by 30th September 2018 your role will move to working towards and you will be able to use other elements of the role.
